Pyramex Capstone Dual-Lens Goggles, Clear

The Pyramex Capstone Dual-Lens is a sealed safety goggle with a dual lens, grey transparent body and clear lens. It is made for work and shooting where the eyes must be fully covered, and the large frame fits over most prescription glasses – so glasses wearers don't have to choose between seeing clearly and being protected.

The biggest problem with sealed goggles in airsoft is fogging, and here the Capstone is built differently from a normal single-lens goggle: the outer polycarbonate lens takes the impacts, while an inner acetate lens with Pyramex's H2X anti-fog treatment sits behind it with an air gap in between. This insulates against the temperature difference between face and surroundings, which is the direct cause of fogging. The goggle is certified to both ANSI/ISEA Z87.1-2020+ and EN 166 and has passed the military MIL-PRF-32432 ballistic test.

Why the Capstone Dual-Lens

Five features that make the difference in practice:

• Dual lens (dual pane): Polycarbonate on the outside and anti-fog-treated acetate on the inside. The air gap between the lenses works like double glazing and resists fogging better than a single lens with an anti-fog coating alone.
• Documented impact resistance: EN 166 marking BT (medium energy: 6 mm steel ball of 0.86 g at 120 m/s, also at extreme temperatures), ANSI Z87.1+ High Impact and MIL-PRF-32432 – a clearly documented standard rather than a vague "airsoft-rated" claim.
• Over the glasses (OTG): The frame leaves room for most prescription glasses, and the soft vinyl body moulds to the face, so it seals tightly without pressure points.
• Removable vent caps: With the caps fitted, the goggle is rated against dust and splashes (EN 166 class 3 and 4). Remove them when you need more airflow during hard physical play.
• Low weight and quick-release strap: Just 92 g and a fully adjustable elastic strap with quick-release buckle that is easy to take on and off – also over a helmet or cap.

Maintenance and safety

• Remove the protective film from the lens before first use – the lens is completely clear under the film.
• Clean the lens with lukewarm water and a soft microfibre cloth. Do not rub the inner anti-fog lens hard, as this can wear the coating.
• Replace the goggle if the lens is cracked, deeply scratched or has taken a heavy hit.
• Check the site's eye protection requirements – some sites require full face protection in addition to goggles.
