About E-Shooter Kestrel V2 ETU/MOSFET with App, Rear Wired

The E-Shooter Kestrel V2 is an electronic trigger unit (ETU) with built-in MOSFET for standard Tokyo Marui V2 gearboxes, here in the rear-wired version. The unit replaces the mechanical trigger contacts, and via Bluetooth and the Eshooter app on iOS or Android you control fire modes, pre-cocking, rate of fire and trigger sensitivity without stripping the replica.

An ETU is one of the upgrades you notice most in an AEG. Current goes directly from the battery to the motor instead of through worn contacts, which gives faster trigger response, and functions such as active braking and cycle detection spare the gearbox. The Kestrel V2 is the fully featured model in the series, with five trigger sensors, AUG mode, magazine simulation and room for several personal profiles.

Kestrel V2 – key features

Key features and why they matter:

  • Adjustable trigger sensitivity: Five sensors register the trigger's movement, so the trigger point can be set in the app – with mechanical contacts this requires physically modifying the parts.
  • Seven fire modes: SAFE, SEMI, BINARY, BURST, AUG, AUTO and SNIPER are assigned to the selector positions, so you can, for example, run burst instead of full auto at sites with restrictions.
  • Pre-cocking in 100 steps: The piston spring is held partly compressed between shots, which noticeably shortens the time from pull to shot compared with a standard gearbox.
  • Active braking and cycle detection: The gear sensor counts the teeth and stops the cycle correctly with DSG, SSG or standard gears, while the brake ensures the piston stops forward and is not left cocked.
  • Protection and OTA: Smart fuse, locked-rotor protection, battery monitoring with warning in the app and sleep mode after one hour – and new firmware is downloaded free via the app.

Maintenance and safety

  • Installing it in the gearbox requires experience with AEG internals – our workshop in Aulum, Denmark can fit and set up the ETU for you.
  • Calibrate the sensors after installation as the manufacturer specifies on the board – and avoid scratching or pinching the board, as this can cause a short circuit.
  • Use LiPo, LiFe or LiHv batteries within the voltage range, and disconnect the battery after play.
  • Keep grease and dirt away from the board and sensors when servicing the gearbox.
