About E-Shooter Kestrel V2 Basic ETU/MOSFET, Rear Wired

The E-Shooter Kestrel V2 Basic is a programmable ETU with MOSFET for V2 gearboxes, here in the rear-wired version. The Basic version has no app or Bluetooth – instead it is programmed directly with the trigger in three steps, and all settings are reset by holding the trigger for 8 seconds.

The Basic is the most affordable way into the Kestrel series and is aimed at those who want the mechanical benefits of an ETU without using their phone. Current goes directly from battery to motor instead of through worn contacts, you get pre-cocking for faster response and active braking that spares the gearbox – and according to E-Shooter it fits standard Tokyo Marui V2 and most manufacturers' own V2 gearboxes.

Kestrel V2 Basic – key features

Key features and why they matter:

  • Programming without an app: Three steps with the trigger are enough to set pre-cocking and fire modes – no phone, no pairing and no app updates.
  • Five pre-cocking levels: The unit learns by itself where the piston should stop at different speeds and loads, so pre-cocking works consistently with different motors and springs.
  • SEMI/BINARY and AUTO/BURST: The semi position can be programmed to binary, and the auto position to 3-round burst – useful at sites where full auto is restricted.
  • Active braking and locked-rotor protection: The brake ensures the piston stops forward, and the protection steps in if gears and motor get out of sync, before the gearbox is damaged.
  • Automatic battery detection: The unit detects 2S and 3S batteries by itself and warns of low voltage with motor vibration and a blue light – up to 17 V is supported.

Maintenance and safety

  • Installing it in the gearbox requires experience with AEG internals – our workshop in Aulum, Denmark can fit and set up the ETU for you.
  • After installation or a change of setup, the unit is set via trigger programming as described on the supplied programming card.
  • Always disconnect the battery after play, and test the replica in SAFE and SEMI before you go onto the field.
  • Keep grease and dirt away from the board when servicing the gearbox.
