About Guarder Glock Steel Knocker Lock

The Guarder Steel Knocker Lock (GLK-82) is a steel knocker lock for gas Glocks from Tokyo Marui (G17, G18C and G26) and KJ Works (G23 and G27). It replaces the original part in the pistol's hammer mechanism, which works together with the valve knocker on every single shot. The part is black and has Guarder's DEFRIC coating – a dry-lubricating surface coating that reduces friction and wear.

Because of Japanese regulations, Tokyo Marui can only use limited metal in its pistols, so several of the heavily loaded small parts are made from softer materials. These are typically the first to wear when the pistol is shot a lot or upgraded with a stronger valve and heavier slide. A steel knocker lock removes one of those weak points and gives a more reliable hammer mechanism over time.

Steel, DEFRIC coating and precise fit

Five reasons to switch to Guarder:

  • Steel instead of the standard material: Steel withstands the repeated impacts in the hammer mechanism far better than the original part, so it neither deforms nor wears out of shape.
  • DEFRIC coating: The dry-lubricating surface lets the parts slide against each other without collecting grease and dirt, keeping the mechanism smooth and predictable.
  • Direct replacement: Dimensioned to the original part, so it fits without modification in the pistols it is made for.
  • For TM G17/G18C/G26 and KJ Works G23/G27: Fits the Tokyo Marui and KJ Works models in the classic Gen 3 layout. For the TM G17 Gen 4 and G17 Gen 5 MOS, Guarder makes separate knocker locks.
  • An obvious companion to other upgrades: If you fit a hi-flow valve or a heavier metal slide, the load on the hammer mechanism increases – a steel knocker lock makes sure this part does not become the new weak link.

Maintenance and safety

  • Fitting requires stripping the pistol. If you have not done it before, our workshop in Aulum, Denmark can fit the part for you.
  • Always remove the magazine and check that the pistol is empty before stripping it.
  • Clean old grease and dirt out of the hammer mechanism when fitting, but avoid thick grease on the coated part.
