About RA Steel CNC Piston, 16T
Building a no-compromise DMR, or running a very strong spring that splits ordinary pistons like matchsticks? The Retro Arms Steel CNC Piston 16T is built for exactly that. Where traditional upgrade pistons are made of plastic or polymer with an inserted steel rack, this piston is machined from a single solid piece of high-strength steel.
There is no weaker joint to fail.
100% CNC machined all-steel construction
With this piston, Retro Arms has eliminated the weakest point in any hard-use AEG gearbox:
- No loose parts: Because the whole piston – including all 16 teeth – is machined from one solid steel block, there is no rack that can tear loose, shift or split out of a plastic body.
- Hardened for long life: After CNC machining, the steel is hardened and surface treated. This minimises friction against the gearbox rails and keeps the teeth from wearing, even under extreme mechanical loads.
- Weight-optimised with strategic cut-outs: Despite the solid steel construction, Retro Arms has added deep, computer-designed cut-outs along the sides and body. This keeps the weight down, so you keep a good cycle rate without unnecessary load on your gears.
- 16T configuration: The piston has 16 precision-machined teeth, making it compatible with standard gear setups and optimised for clean engagement (AOE) with your sector gear.
For high-power and hard-use tuning
