Nimrod NTRD-1 Micro Red Dot Sight

The Nimrod NTRD-1 is a micro red dot sight with an open design and integrated Picatinny mount that attaches directly to the rail with a thumbscrew. With 1x magnification, a 26 mm lens and a small, compact body of 52 × 40 × 40 mm weighing only 93 g, it suits short airsoft guns, carbines and rail-equipped pistols where a large reflex sight would take up too much space.

Micro red dots have become standard on CQB guns because they give fast target acquisition with both eyes open without blocking your view. The NTRD-1 uses a standard CR2032 coin cell battery that is available everywhere, and brightness is controlled with +/- buttons on the side, so you can adjust the dot for both dark indoor sites and bright daylight.

NTRD-1 – key features

The most important features in practice:

• 3.5 MOA red dot: A medium size that is quick to find at short range but still precise enough to cover a target further out – a widely used standard between the small 2 MOA and larger 6 MOA dots.
• Integrated Picatinny mount: The sight sits on a low Picatinny base with thumbscrew, so it can be fitted and removed without tools and moved between guns.
• Adjustment in 1 MOA clicks: Elevation and windage are set with clearly marked adjustment screws (1 click = 1 MOA), so zeroing is easy to follow and repeat.
• Compact and light: 93 g and 52 mm long – considerably smaller than traditional tube red dots, so it does not upset the balance of a light gun.
• CR2032 battery: A standard coin cell available in any supermarket. Battery, hex key, cleaning cloth and manual are included.

Maintenance and safety

• Clean the lens with the supplied cleaning cloth – avoid paper and clothing that can scratch the coating.
• Remove the battery for long-term storage to avoid discharge and leakage.
• Regularly check that the thumbscrew is tight, and re-zero the sight if it has been removed.
• Always wear approved shooting glasses – an open sight gives no protection against BBs.
