GNP Optic Cleaner, 100 ml

GNP Optic Cleaner is a cleaning spray for the glass surfaces of precision optics – riflescopes, red dot sights, binoculars and rangefinders. The 100 ml pump bottle with cap can travel in a hunting bag or backpack, so you can remove fingerprints, dust, pollen and greasy marks from the lens in the field.

Optics on hunting and shooting guns quickly get dirty from rain, sweat and grease from your hands, and marks on the objective or eyepiece cost contrast just at dusk, when you need it most. GNP's formula evaporates quickly without streaks and, according to the manufacturer, leaves a water-repellent (hydrophobic) coating on the glass, so raindrops and moisture run off more easily after cleaning.

What you get in the bottle:

• Hydrophobic finish: As well as cleaning, the product lays a water-repellent film on the glass – an ordinary glass cleaner gets the lens clean but gives no protection against new water droplets.
• Gentle on anti-reflective coatings: The manufacturer lists the formula as harmless to coated lenses, where alcohol- or ammonia-based household cleaners can wear the coating over time.
• Fast, streak-free evaporation: The lens is ready for use shortly after wiping, without the haze that appears when a cleaner dries slowly.
• Removes grease and organic dirt: Fingerprints, skin oil and pollen are dissolved rather than just smeared around the lens.
• Pump spray with cap: Dispenses a fine mist, so you don't flood the edge of the lens and risk liquid seeping in at the lens mount.

Maintenance and safety

• First blow or brush sand and grit off the lens, so you don't scratch the glass when wiping.
• Spray onto a clean microfibre cloth rather than directly onto the lens, and wipe in circular movements from the centre outwards.
• On plastic shooting glasses and visors with anti-fog coating: test a small area first, as coatings vary from manufacturer to manufacturer.
• Keep the bottle closed and out of reach of children.
