About GNP Bore Cleaning Foam, 200 ml

GNP Bore Cleaning Foam in 200 ml is a bore-cleaning foam that fills the barrel, clings to the bore wall and, according to the manufacturer, cleans the bore in about 10 minutes. The can has a two-way spray nozzle with a fixed tube, so you can apply the foam directly into the chamber or muzzle without spills.

Foam has a clear advantage over liquid bore cleaner: it stays in the barrel for the whole working time instead of running out, and it reaches right down into the rifling where copper and lead deposits build up. After cleaning, according to the manufacturer, it leaves a thin protective oil film. GNP lists the product as suitable for all types of firearms as well as air and gas-powered guns, and the 200 ml size suits you if you clean barrels regularly.

GNP Bore Cleaning Foam – key features

The most important points:

  • Foam with long contact time: Stays in the barrel and penetrates the microscopic irregularities of the metal, where a liquid would run out after a few seconds.
  • Dissolves carbon, copper, lead and zinc: One product for both fouling and metal deposits from bullets and shot.
  • Protective oil film after cleaning: The barrel is not left bare after cleaning, as it can be after pure solvents.
  • No ammonia or abrasives: According to the manufacturer, free from ammonia, alcohol and abrasive particles – unlike classic ammonia-based copper solvents, which require a short, carefully controlled working time.
  • Two-way nozzle with tube: Precise application in chamber and muzzle without loose extension tubes.

Maintenance and safety

  • Fill the barrel with foam, let it work for about 10 minutes, and pull it out with patches or a pull-through cleaner until they come out clean. Repeat if heavily fouled.
  • The can is pressurised: keep it away from heat, sparks and open flames, and follow the hazard labelling on the can.
  • Wear gloves and eye protection, and work in a ventilated room.
  • For airsoft, the foam is not used in the inner barrel with the hop-up fitted – an airsoft barrel is best cleaned dry or with a lightly moistened cloth.
