GNP Degreaser Cleaner, 400 ml

GNP Degreaser Cleaner is a degreasing spray in a 400 ml can for quick cleaning of the gun's metal parts. It removes old oil, old grease, powder deposits and other dirt, displaces moisture and, according to the manufacturer, evaporates without leaving residue or odour. The can comes with nozzle and tube, so you can flush into the action, trigger group and gas tube.

A degreaser is the first step when a gun is to be thoroughly overhauled: old lubrication that has collected fouling and dust acts more like grinding paste than lubricant, and new oil on top of old never gives a clean result. The Degreaser is also used before fitting parts where the surface must be completely grease-free – for example before thread locker or new grease in a bolt.

Why it is worth having in your cleaning kit:

• Removes old lubrication and fouling: Dissolves oil and grease that have collected dirt, so the parts are clean for new lubrication.
• Leaves no residue: Unlike a CLP oil, the degreaser leaves neither film nor odour according to the manufacturer – essential when a surface must be completely grease-free.
• Displaces moisture: Pushes water out of joints and recesses, where it would otherwise start corrosion under old oil.
• Pressure and tube for flushing: The aerosol pressure flushes dirt out of places you cannot reach with a cloth or brush.
• Large 400 ml can: Degreasing takes a fair amount of liquid for flushing, so the large size lasts for many sessions.

Maintenance and safety

• Always lubricate the parts again with gun oil after degreasing – otherwise the metal is left unprotected against rust.
• The manufacturer does not state compatibility with plastic and rubber: test on a hidden spot, and avoid O-rings, seals and hop-up buckings on airsoft guns.
• Wear gloves and eye protection, and work in a well-ventilated room.
• The can is pressurised: keep it away from heat and open flames, and follow the hazard labelling on the packaging.
