About FX Pocket Chrono D1
The FX Pocket Chrono D1 is a compact radar chronograph that mounts directly on the rifle and measures the projectile's velocity on every shot. It is made for air rifle shooters who tune their rifle or test projectiles and want to see the result straight away – without setting up an optical chronograph stand in front of the muzzle.
The D1 replaces the Pocket Chrono V2, and the biggest difference is the built-in display. Velocity for the last shot is shown directly on the unit, and you can also see statistics for a whole string. A smartphone is therefore not needed to use the chronograph, but FX's app can be used for more detailed statistics and firmware updates. The measuring range is 120–380 m/s.
Radar measurement and mounting
The D1 is built to stay on the rifle while you shoot, rather than being a separate piece of kit.
- Radar technology: Velocity is measured by radar instead of light sensors. As a result, the reading is not affected by poor light, shadows or weather the way an optical chronograph is.
- Built-in display: Velocity and string statistics are shown on the chronograph itself, removing the need for a phone or separate screen on the range.
- Quick release: The chronograph fits into the mounting base and locks with a quarter turn, so it can quickly be removed and moved between rifles with the same type of base.
- Two mounting bases: Both a barrel mount and a Weaver/Picatinny mount are included, and a 90-degree adapter ensures the display can be seen whatever the mounting point.
- Weather-resistant with USB-C: The chronograph is weather-resistant and charges via USB-C, so it can be used outdoors and charged with the same cable as much of your other kit.
Maintenance and safety
- Charge via USB-C and avoid storing the chronograph fully discharged for long periods.
- Wipe the display and radar front with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use solvents.
- Check that the mount is tight, so the chronograph does not move or get into the line of fire.
