How fitting works
Turnaround is 2–3 weeks from when we receive your gun.
- Order the kit and fittingEnter your gun model and gearbox, and tick the box about the right of withdrawal.
- Drop off or send your gunAt our shop in Aulum, Denmark, or with a shipping label. Return shipping is free.
- We build and measureShimming, AOE, lubrication, chronograph reading in m/s with your BB weight, and test firing.
- Get your gun backFixed price 500 kr, paid when you order. We return it free of charge, or you can collect it from the shop.
About the kit
The Basic kit for AK is the most affordable route to a more durable and consistent AEG. The kit replaces the V3 gearbox parts that most often break or wear in a standard AEG – piston, piston head, cylinder head, spring guide and spring – without touching motor or gearing. If you choose the variant with gear set, you also get a BalystiK CNC 18:1 gear set and shims.
Stripped piston teeth and a cracked piston head are the most common reasons a standard AEG stops working on the field. The kit addresses exactly those two things and also improves the air seal, so velocity is more consistent from shot to shot. The motor is not included – it adds the most to the price without making the gearbox more durable. If you want a higher rate of fire, see our All-Round kit.
The parts that give the most for the money
- Piston with 14-tooth metal rack: The body is PA66 polymer, and the tooth rack is metal all the way. An all-plastic piston is the typical weak point in a standard gearbox.
- Guarder aluminium piston head: An aluminium piston head withstands the impact against the cylinder head better than a standard plastic piston head.
- Element V3 flat cylinder head for AK: A new cylinder head with O-rings gives a tight seal to the cylinder, so compression is not lost and velocity becomes more consistent.
- ICS spring guide for V3 and M100 spring: The spring guide keeps the spring straight during compression, and the new spring gives a known force instead of a tired stock spring.
- Optional BalystiK CNC 18:1 gear set with shims: The standard ratio in CNC steel lasts considerably longer than most stock gears. The gear set requires shimming, so we recommend having it fitted in the workshop.
Maintenance and safety
- Fitting requires disassembly of the gearbox, shimming and correct lubrication. If you haven't done it before, we recommend having it fitted in our workshop
- Always measure velocity with a chronograph after fitting, and stay within the site's limits for your type of replica
- Use an 11.1 V LiPo battery with a suitable discharge rating, and always charge with a balance charger in a LiPo safety bag
- Inspect the gearbox after a season with many game days
- Always wear approved eye protection during play and testing
