About FX DRS Pro MDT, 700
The FX DRS Pro MDT 700 is the top model in the first generation of the DRS: a regulated PCP air rifle in .177 (4.5 mm) built into an MDT ACC Elite aluminium chassis with an MDT Premier stock. The rifle has a 700 mm barrel, is 1135 mm long, weighs 3700 g and holds 310 cc at 230 bar. FX quotes up to 57 J for the FullPower version, and it is loaded with a sidelever from a 16-shot mini magazine.
The Pro version is made for precision shooting at long range and PRS-style competition, where the chassis's adjustability and stiffness matter more than low weight. The Slug Power Kit is fitted from the factory, and a large 62 cc power plenum gives enough air for heavy slugs. The mini magazine sits low, so the scope can be mounted close to the barrel.
MDT chassis, Slug Power Kit and Heavy STX liner
Five features that set the Pro apart from the Classic:
- MDT ACC Elite chassis: Aluminium chassis from Canadian MDT with a Premier stock that adjusts for length and cheek rest. The fore-end has M-LOK for a bipod and other accessories.
- 62 cc power plenum and Slug Power Kit: The large plenum and the fitted slug kit give the volume of air per shot that heavy projectiles need – a clear step up from the 16 cc plenum on the Classic models.
- STX Superior Heavy liner: The heavier liner is stiffer and holds its accuracy better at high energy. The liner can be changed if you want to try a different twist.
- AMP MKII regulator with gauge: The regulator keeps the working pressure constant and can be adjusted from the outside, and a separate Wika pressure gauge shows the system pressure.
- Match trigger and 30 MOA Picatinny: The fully adjustable match trigger gives a clean release, and the full-length Picatinny rail with 30 MOA cant gives the scope more elevation for long range. The muzzle has a 1/2" UNF thread.
Maintenance and safety
- Only fill with clean, dry compressed air via the fill probe, and do not exceed 230 bar.
- Check the O-rings at the fill port and magazine regularly, and replace them when worn – a leaking O-ring costs both air and consistency.
- Check regularly that the chassis and stock screws are tight – especially after transport – so your zero holds.
- Store the rifle unloaded and out of reach of children. Check the air rifle regulations in your country before purchase – rules on power and age limits differ across the EU.
