About FX DRS Pro 700 Base, PCP, .177 (4.5 mm)
The FX DRS Pro 700 Base is the action from the first-generation DRS Pro: action, match trigger and a 700 mm barrel in .177 (4.5 mm), supplied without a stock. It is the starting point for shooters who want to build a powerful, accurate slug rifle in their own chassis – for example for long range, benchrest or hunting, where heavy projectiles and high precision matter most.
Compared with the standard DRS 700 Base, the Pro version comes slug-ready from the factory. It has FX's Super High Power plenum and a Slug Power kit with slug probe and heavier hammer weight, and a low 30 MOA Weaver/Picatinny rail is fitted. As on all DRS models, the reservoir sits in the barrel shroud and holds just over 300 cc. FX states up to 56.7 J for the DRS Pro 700 in .177 (4.5 mm) with 1.3 g slugs.
What sets the Pro 700 Base apart
The same DRS platform, but with the parts needed for heavy projectiles.
- SHP plenum: The Super High Power plenum is a larger air chamber between regulator and valve than the standard HP plenum. More air per shot is needed when heavy slugs have to be accelerated through a 700 mm barrel.
- Slug Power kit: Slug probe and heavier hammer weight are fitted from the start, so the slug is seated correctly in the barrel and the valve is held open long enough.
- Match-grade trigger: The two-stage trigger is adjustable on both stages, and the blade can be moved for length, height and angle. The trigger has a very clean break and can be set to a very light pull weight.
- Adjustable regulator and hammer spring: The AMP MkII regulator can be adjusted from the outside, and without a stock you have access to the hammer spring preload. Together this gives full control over pressure and air volume per shot.
- 30 MOA Picatinny rail: The low rail with a 30 MOA incline gives more elevation travel and suits the mini magazine; a high rail is available for the mega magazine. The barrel has a ½ UNF thread for a moderator.
Maintenance and safety
- Only fill with clean, dry compressed air, and do not exceed the maximum fill pressure of 230 bar.
- Check the O-rings at the fill port and magazine regularly, and replace them at signs of wear or leaks.
- Adjust the regulator and hammer spring step by step, and measure the result with a chronograph before using the action for hunting.
- Store the action unloaded and out of reach of children. Check the air rifle regulations in your country before purchase.
