About FX DRS MKII Redline Compact, PCP, .177 (4.5 mm)
The FX DRS MKII Redline Compact is the shortest Redline version: a PCP air rifle with a 500 mm barrel and a laminated wood stock. The short length makes the rifle easy to move through cover and shoot from a high seat – ideal for pest control at shorter range.
The classic look is down to the DRS series having its air reservoir built into the barrel shroud. There is no cylinder or bottle hanging under the barrel, so the profile is low and the rifle sits steadily in the hand. The Compact version holds 210 cc of air – less than the Standard and Sniper, but enough for a hunting trip; the price of the short length is fewer shots per fill.
Features of the DRS MKII Redline Compact
Under the classic exterior, the Redline Compact is built on the same MKII technology as the rest of the DRS series:
- Laminated wood stock: The laminate consists of bonded layers and holds its shape significantly better than solid wood in changing humidity – an advantage for a rifle used outdoors in damp northern European weather, without giving up the grip and warmth of wood.
- Short 500 mm barrel: 100 mm shorter than the Standard and 200 mm shorter than the Sniper. The rifle is quicker to swing and easier to handle from a hide and in tight spaces.
- AMP MKII regulator and 25 cc plenum: The regulator is adjusted from the outside and feeds a 25 cc plenum with the same pressure shot after shot. Together with adjustable hammer spring preload, the output can be matched to diabolo or slug.
- Superior STX liner: The rifling is pressed in from the outside, so the bore is smooth and seals well around the projectile. On the MKII the liner can be changed without emptying the reservoir of air.
- Adjustable trigger and 30 MOA rail: Two-stage trigger with adjustable first and second stage and a movable, rotatable trigger blade. The 30 MOA Picatinny rail gives the riflescope extra elevation adjustment as distance increases.
Maintenance and safety
- Only use clean, dry compressed air, and never fill above FX's maximum system pressure of 230 bar.
- Keep the regulator below 180 bar, and do not keep shooting below the set regulator pressure.
- Use a cleaning pellet if accuracy drops, and check the seals if the rifle loses air.
- Store the rifle dry, unloaded and out of reach of children. Check the air rifle regulations in your country before purchase.
