FX DRS MKII Base Sniper, PCP, .177 (4.5 mm)

The FX DRS MKII Base Sniper is the longest action in the DRS MKII series: action, trigger and a 700 mm barrel in .177 (4.5 mm) – without a stock. At 832 mm long and 1760 g, it is the building block for a long-range precision rifle, where you choose the stock or chassis yourself to suit your shooting position and discipline.

The long barrel and the largest reservoir in the series – 310 cc integrated into the barrel shroud at up to 230 bar – give the most air to work with. It is also the Sniper version that FX uses as the reference for the platform's maximum power: with the additional FX Super High Power plenum and Slug Power kit, up to 61 J is stated in .177 (4.5 mm) with 1.3 g slugs. From the factory, the action is set up for general use, so that power requires both extra parts and adjustment.

Strengths of the Sniper action

The same MKII technology as the Compact and Standard – but with the most air and the longest barrel.

• 700 mm barrel: The long barrel gives the air the most time to accelerate the projectile, which pays off especially with heavy diabolos and slugs.
• Largest reservoir in the series: 310 cc in the barrel shroud is 100 cc more than the Compact. That gives the most shots per fill and a reserve when the regulator is turned up.
• Ready for upgrading: The action is supplied with a 25 cc power plenum, but can be upgraded with FX's SHP plenum and Slug Power kit (optional extras) for shooting heavy slugs.
• Liner change without degassing: The Superior liner with Smooth Twist X (STX) rifling can be changed without emptying the barrel shroud – handy if you want to test different liners for diabolo and slug.
• Adjustable trigger and 30 MOA Picatinny: The two-stage trigger is fully adjustable, and the 30 MOA inclined Picatinny rail gives the riflescope the extra elevation travel needed at long distances.

Maintenance and safety

• Only fill with clean, dry compressed air, and do not exceed the maximum fill pressure of 230 bar.
• Inspect the O-rings at the fill port, liner and magazine regularly, and replace them when worn.
• When fitting an SHP plenum or Slug Power kit: follow FX's instructions, and check the power with a chronograph.
• Store the action unloaded and out of reach of children. Check the air rifle regulations in your country before purchase.
