About FX DRS Classic Walnut Grade 2 500 PCP, .177 (4.5 mm)

The FX DRS Classic Walnut Grade 2 500 is a regulated PCP air rifle in .177 (4.5 mm) from the first generation of FX's DRS platform, here with a 500 mm barrel and a Grade 2 walnut stock from Minelli. The rifle is 927 mm long, holds 210 cc of air at 230 bar and is loaded with a sidelever from a 16-shot magazine. FX quotes up to 20.0 J for the FullPower version.

The Walnut Grade 2 version has a stock in selected Italian walnut from Minelli with more figure in the wood than the standard stock – for the hunter who wants a rifle that also looks good in the gun cabinet. With a 500 mm barrel, it is the shortest and most manageable DRS Classic, well suited to stalking and shooting from a hide.

APB barrel system, AMP regulator and STX liner

Five features that define the DRS Classic:

  • Air around the barrel (APB): The air reservoir sits as a tube around the barrel instead of under it. That gives a slim, traditional rifle profile and a stiff barrel assembly that does not shift in relation to the scope.
  • Externally adjustable AMP MKII regulator: The regulator keeps the working pressure constant through the whole fill and can be adjusted from the outside, so you can fine-tune it to the ammunition you shoot without taking the rifle apart.
  • Interchangeable STX Superior liner: FX's Smooth Twist X liner has rifling pressed in from the outside for low friction and a good seal. The liner can be changed if you want to try a different twist or change calibre later.
  • Modular power plenum in magazine style: What looks like a classic rifle magazine under the stock is a 16 cc plenum that gives enough air per shot. The plenum can be swapped for a larger one as an accessory.
  • Adjustable two-stage trigger and 11 mm rail: Both stages of the trigger can be adjusted, and the scope mounts on an 11 mm rail. The muzzle has a 1/2" UNF thread for a moderator.

Maintenance and safety

  • Only fill with clean, dry compressed air via the fill probe, and do not exceed 230 bar.
  • Check the O-rings at the fill port and magazine regularly, and replace them when worn – a leaking O-ring costs both air and consistency.
  • Give the walnut stock a thin coat of stock oil now and then, and let it dry slowly if it has got wet – never with direct heat.
  • Store the rifle unloaded and out of reach of children. Check the air rifle regulations in your country before purchase – rules on power and age limits differ across the EU.
