About FX DRS 500 + Saber Tactical Chassis, Grey, PCP, .177 (4.5 mm)
The FX DRS 500 + Saber Tactical Chassis combines the shortest first-generation DRS action – the FX DRS 500 Base in .177 (4.5 mm) – with a Saber Tactical chassis in grey T6 aluminium. With a 500 mm barrel, it is a compact but stiff chassis rifle that is easy to handle from a hide and in the car, while sitting steadily on a bipod on the range.
The set is supplied as separate components, and the base is fitted into the chassis with the included screws. The DRS action has its reservoir in the barrel shroud – just over 200 cc at up to 230 bar – so there is no bottle hanging under the barrel, and the profile stays low. The chassis adds a pistol grip, height-adjustable cheek piece, bag rider and rails for accessories.
What you get with the set
The DRS base does the shooting, while the Saber chassis provides fit, stability and room for accessories.
- Short 500 mm barrel: The shortest DRS length makes the rifle quick to swing and easy to transport. On the other hand, the reservoir holds less air than the 700 version, so there are fewer shots per fill.
- T6 aluminium chassis: The chassis is machined from a single piece of aluminium and is stiffer than a wood or polymer stock, so the base sits firmly and consistently from shot to shot. The underside of the fore-end is textured, so the rifle sits well on a shooting bag.
- Arca-Swiss, Picatinny and M-LOK: Arca-Swiss rail along the underside with a short Weaver/Picatinny rail at the front, plus M-LOK slots underneath and on both sides. A bipod, tripod and balance weights mount directly without adapters.
- Ergonomics and adjustment: The pistol grip is shaped for a relaxed shooting position and prepared for a thumb rest. The cheek piece adjusts for height so your eye lines up with the riflescope, and the bag rider and rubber butt pad give a stable hold. The chassis has cut-outs for the pressure gauge and fill port, plus a spirit level.
- Adjustable regulator, hammer spring and trigger: The AMP regulator is adjusted from the outside, and the hammer spring preload can be changed so pressure and air consumption suit the projectile. The two-stage trigger is adjustable, and the barrel has a ½ UNF thread for a moderator.
Maintenance and safety
- Only fill with clean, dry compressed air, and do not exceed 230 bar.
- Tighten the screws between base and chassis evenly when fitting, and check them after the first few sessions.
- The rifle is supplied at a medium setting. Adjust the regulator and hammer spring in small steps, and check the result with a chronograph.
- Store the rifle unloaded and out of reach of children. Check the air rifle regulations in your country before purchase.
