About Artemis LB600 4.5 mm

The Artemis LB600 is a classic break-barrel springer in 4.5 mm. You cock the rifle by breaking the barrel, load a pellet directly into the barrel and close it again – no air cylinder, pump or compressor required. That makes the LB600 a simple, affordable air rifle for target shooting in the garden or on the range.

The spring piston compresses the air the moment you pull the trigger, so the rifle is ready as soon as it is cocked. In return, you need to practise a steady, consistent hold, because the piston movement produces a slight jolt that a PCP rifle does not have. Velocity is around 170–180 m/s with 4.5 mm pellets, and with an overall length of 1090 mm and a weight of approx. 2800 g the LB600 has the size and balance of a full-size rifle.

A simple break-barrel with no air equipment

What you get with the LB600:

  • Spring piston: The rifle generates its own air. Compared with a PCP, you do not need to invest in filling equipment, and you can shoot for as long as you have pellets.
  • Rifled steel barrel: The rifling spins the pellet so it flies more stably than from a smoothbore barrel.
  • Synthetic Monte Carlo stock: The stock is Ambidextrous, so it suits both right- and left-handed shooters, and it handles moisture and knocks better than wood. The butt pad softens the recoil against your shoulder.
  • Adjustable open sights: A fibre-optic foresight that is easy to pick up in poor light, and an adjustable rear sight so you can zero the rifle.
  • 11 mm rail and manual safety: The 11 mm dovetail rail takes standard air rifle scope mounts, and the manual safety blocks the trigger while the rifle is cocked.

Maintenance and safety

  • Never leave the rifle cocked for long periods – it puts unnecessary strain on the spring.
  • Keep hold of the barrel while it is broken open, and never let it snap shut.
  • Clean the barrel with felt cleaning pellets and only lubricate according to the manual; too much oil in the compression chamber can cause smoke and inconsistent shots.
  • Check the air rifle regulations in your country before purchase. Always wear eye protection and use a safe pellet trap.
