About Fenris Arms Freedom Folding Knife

The Fenris Arms Freedom is a mid-size folding knife for hiking, camp and everyday use. The blade is around 90 mm long, the overall length is 213 mm and the knife weighs 158 g. That makes it a solid pocket knife with good reach in the cut – larger than a classic small pocket knife, but still compact enough for a pocket or belt pouch.

The Freedom is built on a well-proven, robust formula: stainless steel blade, G10 handle scales and a liner lock. It is a construction that is easy to maintain and rarely causes problems, and it works well as a first proper folding knife or as a spare knife in your pack or car. The knife is available with three handle colours: tan, green and black.

Folding knife with G10 handle and liner lock

The key features:

  • G10 handle: Glass-fibre laminate in epoxy that does not absorb water, does not swell and handles cold and damp far better than wood. The surface is shaped to give a secure grip, even with wet hands.
  • Liner lock: A sprung steel liner in the handle slides in behind the blade and locks it open. You release the lock by pushing the liner aside with your thumb.
  • Thumb stud: The blade opens one-handed via the stud on the blade – practical when your other hand is holding what you are cutting.
  • Stainless steel blade: Stainless steel is easy to keep sharp with an ordinary whetstone and handles moisture better than carbon steel.
  • Lanyard hole and pocket clip: The clip keeps the knife in place in your pocket, and the hole in the handle takes a lanyard, so the knife is easy to find and draw.

Maintenance and safety

  • Rinse and dry the knife after use, and give the pivot and liner a drop of oil now and then.
  • Check regularly that the liner engages fully behind the blade. Clean dirt out of the handle if the lock feels stiff.
  • Keep your fingers out of the blade's path when you release the liner lock and close the blade.
  • One-hand opening folding knives with a locking blade are regulated in many countries. Check the knife laws in your country, carry the knife only for a legitimate purpose such as work, outdoor activities or fishing, and otherwise transport it safely packed away.
