Hunting Vests

A hunting vest keeps your body warm without restricting your arms – which is why it is popular both as a mid-layer under the jacket and on its own on mild days. What to look for

Shooting vest

A shooting vest is made for shooting: good freedom of movement in the shoulders and pockets you can reach with one hand. The GAMEKEEPER shooting vest and the Lady PAM shooting vest have padded shoulder protection and an adjustable drawcord waist at the back. The ATLAS shooting vest and ATLAS mesh shooting vest are lighter alternatives.

Fleece vest

Fleece vests from ATLAS, CUMBRIA, EAGLE and MUFLON PRO are light warm layers that are easy to move in. The GAMEKEEPER reversible fleece vest can be turned inside out, so you have a high-visibility side for driven hunts.

Padded vest and knitted vest

MOOR is available as a fully padded vest, a knitted vest and a padded vest with knit panels at the sides. CAROLINE is the corresponding Lady model. They work well as a warm layer under a shell jacket.

Heated vest

The HEAT inner vest has an integrated heating system with three heat levels, which you switch on with a button at the front. The power bank is not included – Deerhunter recommends a 5,000 mAh power bank.

High-visibility colour

For driven hunts there is the hunting mesh safety vest, the ATLAS Light fleece vest and the EAGLE vest in Safety Orange, among others. They are CE-marked to EN 17353, the standard for enhanced-visibility equipment. See also driven-hunt clothing and high-visibility colours.

Size and fit

Deerhunter has its own size charts for men, women and children – you will find the chart on each product page and all measurements in the size guide. A vest worn under the jacket can fit closely. A shooting vest worn over a jumper needs a little more room.

Vest or jacket?

The vest keeps your body warm while your arms move freely – an advantage when you need to shoot, throw a retrieving dummy or handle game. If your arms get cold easily, a fleece jacket is the better choice.

Who it suits

The hunting vest suits hunters who want to regulate their warmth through the day – e.g. on a driven hunt where you alternate between walking and standing still. The shooting vest is for the range and hunts with a lot of shooting. Many models also come in Lady and Youth versions.

Combine with hunting jackets, hunting jumpers and knitwear and hunting trousers.
