About Maple Leaf AEG Inner Barrel, 540 mm
The Maple Leaf AEG inner barrel is a precision barrel in chrome-plated brass with an internal diameter of 6.02 mm and a length of 540 mm. It fits AEGs with TM-standard hop-up and is typically used in long rifle and DMR builds, where a long barrel needs to make use of the rifle's full length.
A standard barrel typically has an internal diameter of 6.05–6.08 mm, which leaves the BB room to wobble slightly in the barrel. A 6.02 mm precision barrel fits more closely around the BB, so the air behind it is used more efficiently and the BB leaves the barrel more consistently. This improves accuracy and can raise muzzle velocity slightly.
6.02 mm precision, chrome-plated brass and 540 mm
Five reasons to switch to Maple Leaf:
- 6.02 mm tight bore: A closer fit around the BB than a standard barrel, giving more consistent shots and better grouping.
- Chrome-plated brass: A smooth, hard-wearing, low-friction surface that stays accurate over time.
- 540 mm: For long AEG builds where the barrel length needs to match the outer barrel.
- For TM-standard AEGs: Fits hop-up units to the Tokyo Marui standard and can be combined with Maple Leaf AEG hop-up buckings.
- Part of a series: Also available in other lengths, e.g. 310 mm.
Maintenance and safety
- Measure the length of your current inner barrel before ordering – the right length depends on the outer barrel and hop-up unit.
- Precision barrels need a little more care: clean the barrel regularly with a cleaning rod and a dry cloth so dirt does not affect accuracy.
- Use good-quality BBs – burrs and uneven BBs can jam in a tight barrel.
- Our workshop in Aulum, Denmark can fit the barrel if you would rather not strip the rifle yourself.
