About Hatsan Zylox QE PCP, .177 (4.5 mm)
The Hatsan Zylox QE is a .177 (4.5 mm) PCP air rifle with a sidelever and removable 14-shot magazine. The sidelever sits on the side of the receiver, so you can reload without lifting your cheek from the cheek rest or letting go of the pistol grip with your shooting hand. With a 450 mm barrel and a telescopic stock giving an overall length of 1110–1190 mm, it is a full-size rifle for range and precision shooting with a scope.
The air is held in a 215 cc cylinder filled to 200 bar. Hatsan quotes up to 145 shots per fill in .177, of which around 55 are within the optimum velocity range – the rest gradually drop in velocity as the pressure falls, because the rifle is unregulated. Top velocity is 325 m/s and energy up to 30 J. The QE version is 175 mm longer than the standard Zylox and weighs approx. 3250 g.
What you get with the Hatsan Zylox QE
The Zylox QE combines a fast repeating action with good air capacity:
- Sidelever repeater: The sidelever cocks the action and feeds the next pellet in one movement. Compared with a classic bolt in front of your face, this gives a steadier hold and faster follow-up shots.
- 14-shot magazine: The removable rotary magazine holds 14 .177 pellets – a good compromise between capacity and a magazine that doesn't stick up far above the receiver and get in the way of scope mounting.
- 215 cc cylinder, 200 bar: The relatively low fill pressure makes the rifle quicker to fill and still gives up to 145 shots per fill according to Hatsan.
- Combined 11 mm / 22 mm rail: The optics rail takes both 11 mm dovetail and 22 mm Weaver mounts, so you are not locked into one mounting standard when choosing a riflescope or red dot.
- Adjustable polymer stock: The advanced polymer stock is telescopic and adjusts 80 mm in length. That makes it easy to fit the length to the shooter and the shooting position – e.g. shorter when wearing a winter jacket.
Maintenance and safety
- Fill pressure: Never fill above 200 bar. Only use dry, filtered air from a high-pressure pump with moisture filter or a scuba/PCP tank.
- Shoot within the optimum range: As the rifle is unregulated, velocity drops as pressure falls. For precision shooting, refill when you approach the pressure at which your point of impact starts to wander.
- Cleaning: Clean the barrel with a pull-through and felt pellets as needed, and keep the magazine free of dirt and lead residue.
- Storage: Store the rifle unloaded, without magazine and with the safety on, out of reach of children.
