Arcturus Thunder A CO2 Sound Grenade, Core (without Shells)

The Thunder A Core is the core of Arcturus' CO2-powered sound grenade – the part that holds the 12 g CO2 cartridge, the safety pin and the spoon. The core is supplied on its own without shells and is designed to be used again and again with Thunder A shells.

An extra core makes sense when you want more than one grenade ready at a time. The core is the lasting part of the system, so with two or three cores in your vest you can throw several grenades in a row instead of having to change cartridge and shell on the same core between each throw.

Thunder A Core – key features

Key features and why they matter:

• 12 g CO2: Powered by a standard 12 g CO2 cartridge – a gas type that is easy to get hold of and requires no powder, primers or caps.
• Maximum 2-second delay: The short delay makes the grenade effective in CQB, but also means it must be thrown immediately after release.
• Pin and spoon: Activated with safety pin and spoon just like a real hand grenade, so the drills can be trained realistically.
• Reusable: The core is the lasting part of the system – only the CO2 cartridge and shells need replacing.
• Fits both shell types: Used with both smooth (CGSP-6E) and patterned (CGSP-6V) Thunder A shells.

Maintenance and safety

• Throw the grenade immediately once the safety pin is pulled and the spoon released – the delay is a maximum of 2 seconds, and the manufacturer advises against 'cooking' the grenade.
• Never use the grenade close to the face or ears, and always wear approved eye protection; follow the site's rules for sound grenades and safety distances.
• Never fill BBs, water or other objects into the shell or core – the product is a sound simulator and is not designed to launch projectiles.
• Store the core dry and without a CO2 cartridge fitted, and check seals and threads for dirt before each use.
